Peter Frampton
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at 8:00 pm ($49.00 to $69.00)

At age eight Frampton began to teach himself to play guitar and piano. By the age of ten, Frampton played in a band called The Little Ravens. The Little Ravens played in some of the same shows as his schoolmate David Bowie's band, George and the Dragons..
Other early endeavors included The Preachers at age 11, and Humble Pie when he was 18. During this time he did some studio work with the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, John Entwhistle and George Harrison. While working with Harrison he was introduced to the ‘talk box’ that was to become his trademark guitar sound.
Frampton achieved break-through commercial success in 1976 with the release of the live recording Frampton Comes Alive!. The multi-platinum album has sold more than 16 million copies to date, and it remains one of the most successful live recordings of all time.
In 2007 Frampton’s album Fingerprints was awarded the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album.
Peter is currently touring and working on the follow up to this Grammy Award winning album to be released in January 2010.

ODYSSEY DANCE THEATRE’S THRILLER
October 23-24, 26-30, 2009, 7:30 PM &
October 31, 2009, 8:00 PM ($17.50 - $21.50)

If Odyssey Dance Theatre's "Thriller" isn't part of your yearly Halloween tradition, it should be. The spooky spectacular combines technical aspects of dance while paying homage to the stars of All Hallows' Eve.
Throughout the two-hour program, "Thriller" highlights all the heroes of the season, including Frankenstein's monster and his bride, skeletons, mummies and werewolves. But among the ghouls, you'll find other unlikely heroes of Halloween, such as the knife-savvy Lorena Bobbitt and the "Giggle Girl," who sings and maniacally laughs her way through songs such as "I Saw Mommy Killing Santa Claus."
Critics agree that Odyssey Dance Theatre is nothing short of spectacular:
"Compelling dance performed to perfection! Young, trim, slim, and athletic....Great fun!" --The Spectrum
“Odyssey’s “Thriller”..a delightful “Dance Macabre”....As for humor, there were bucket–loads. Laughs abounded during a “Romeo & Juliet”–inspired “Frankenstein & Frankenstein” and “Jason Jam,” a work that used a lot of percussive dancing, a la “Stomp,” that spotlighted three “Friday the 13th” villains dancing with ice picks, machetes and, of all things, chain saws. The whole idea was cool...”– Scott Iwasaki, Deseret News

CHRISTMAS IN THE CANYON: A Holiday Concert
Friday, December 4, 2009 at 7:00 pm ( $15.50)
Make the season bright with this annual Tuacahn tradition. Bring the family and enjoy a night of the sounds of Christmas. This year's concert will feature Same Payne, Jenny Jordan Frogley and BYU Vocal Point.
As a songwriter and performer, Sam Payne (the son of troubadour and actor Marvin Payne) has played stages from the jazz clubs of Tokyo to the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Payne's contemporary folk tunes and the stories that accompany them have established Payne and his band (The Sam Payne Project) as a perennial favorite of audiences around the west.
The press has said of Sam Payne's music: "Payne is one of those few musicians who can successfully combine both songwriting and stage performing. He can write poignant and meaningful lyrics, combine them with a melodic hook, and perform them in a voice that makes you want to close your eyes and drift away." www.sampayne.com
